Why do bad things happen to good people?

So, I always hear people say, "Why do bad things happen to good people?" Well, don't good things also happen to good people. Of course bad things happen to all of us, but it is how we deal with the situation that makes or breaks you. As many of you know, our company was contacted by Playtex to stop use of the word "binky" in our original name, the Heirloom Binky Bracelet which is now called the Heirloom Bijou Bracelet™.

This situation could have allowed us to cave in, even give up. Since we have launched our company, the one thing that I have learned is to take a deep breath, step back and look at the situation. I believe that there is always a positive out of negative situationb. Sometimes, it takes a few minutes to see the blessing and sometimes it takes a few years. There is always one blessing that can come of any negative situation and that is what I want to share with all of you.

Remember that all of us go through difficult times in our life, and someone else is going to go through a similar problem that you are dealing with. So, go out there and bless someone by offering them your wisdom and encouragement.

I have been terrible about this blog thing, but I will make it a promise to post more information here as it comes in. We've had so many wonderful things happen in these last couple of months, including the "cease and desist."
Remember, what doesn't break you, makes you stronger! Also, we are firm believers that there is always a silver lining, but it's not always in our timing. There's always a lesson to be learned or an idea to be generated from something that may appear to be doom and gloom. Think outside of the box, and turn to others for support. We received more support from the unexpected than the expected, so never place limits and boundaries on yourself when you are trying to achieve your dreams.
Ok, I'll get off my soap box and go to bed, but I've been feeling the love and support and it's just sooo nice! I hope that others can benefit from out experience.

NEW NAME

So sorry this has taken this long to post here, but I switched computers and couldn't figure out my login info...that's how good I am. Not only do I lock out the hackers, but I can lock myself out as well:)
Anywayyyy, we have a new product name thanks to Jee Youn Fickling! It's the Heirloom Bijou Bracelet™. "Bijou" is French for jewelry, an item to be adorned. When I heard the definition, I just knew that was our new name. It also seemed to roll off my tongue like the old name. We feel that this is actually a better suited name for us, because appears to be a little classier. It adds that finer touch to it.
Hope all of you like it, and thank you so much for all of the entries. We got some great alternates and were very impressed with the creativity and the support! I cannot say it enough, this contest would not have been possible if it wasn't for the mompreneurs who donated, Baby Swags PR, and you for your name suggestions.

Today we went on our local morning show, Lowcountry Live, to launch our contest! One thing I forgot to mention is that the basket is going be on display at one of our retailers, Jackson Madeleine. Their store is located in historic downtown Charleston at 155 King Street. They have been so gracious with offering to display the basket, as well as donating a $100 gift certificate for our Grand Prize Basket. You can also submit your entry at Jackson Madeleine! Playtex Corporation ordered us to drop the “Binky” from our signature product,the Heirloom Binky Bracelet. So, we need a new product name and fast! We thought that there was no better person to name our product than our own customers.

There will be one Grand Prize Winner. The winner will receive an extra large basket stuffed with Infant to Mommy Products from clients of the PR and Marketing Firm Baby swags, which places “Mompreneur” creations in swag bags for celebrities. Baby Swags owner, Phyllis Pometta, stepped in immediately to help when she learned of our business crisis. We’ve been overwhelmed with the generosity of our peers, and their willingness to help another mom owned small business in need. Along with Baby Swags, contact information, you can view all of the wonderful companies and their fabulous products on our Blog post “Grand Prize Basket.”

Contest Rules and Guidelines:

1. Contest begins on Friday, August 7th at 10am Eastern Standard Time (EST). No entries will be accepted before that date and time. Each submission will be recorded by date and time.

2. Contest ends Monday, August 31st. All submissions must be received before midnight EST. The winner will be announced the week of September 14-18th.

3. Only one name suggestion per email entry. However, you may enter up to 7 submissions.

4. The winner will have 5 business days from the announcement date to accept their prize.

5. All entrants must be at least 18 years old & have a valid email address.

6. All submissions must be entered by using our Contact Us Page, sending your contact information & submission.

7. In the Subject Box, the word “Contest” must be written.

8. You will receive a confirmation email, so please add the email address Neyle@TempletonSilver.com to your contact list to ensure proper delivery. (The Grand Prize Winner will be notified via email.)

9. When submitting your entry, you are agreeing that your entry name becomes the sole property of Templeton’s - “Timeless Infant Silver,” and gives Templeton’s - “Timeless Infant Silver” the right to apply for a trademark with the winning submission.

10. Your entry gives Templeton’s - “Timeless Infant Silver” the right to use your first name only as well as your geographical location for promotional purposes. You are also authorizing Templeton’s - “Timeless Infant Silver” to have the option to use a photo and/or TV appearance upon your acceptance of the grand prize basket.

11. Should the winner not respond within the respectable time frame of the winner’s announcement, the said winner loses the right to the Grand Prize Basket and it will be rewarded to another contestant. However, Templeton’s - “Timeless Infant Silver” still has the right to use the first choice of all of the entries.
